From the Tanka Society of America

Submission guidelines are up on the TSA website for the 17th Tanka Society of America Sanford Goldstein International Tanka Contest.  The submission window is open May 1 June 30, 2016 (in-hand deadline).  See the website for details.  http://www.tankasocietyofamerica.org/tsa-contest/how-to-enter-the-tsa-international-tanka-contest

For writers of tanka prose, we would like to pass on this message from our tanka prose editor, Autumn Noelle Hall:

English language tanka prose, whether its prose links tanka through poetic lyricism, colloquial tongue-in-cheek, or even authentic dialog, has the potential to carry us beyond mere essence and into the heart of being.  As Ribbons first-ever tanka prose editor, I am thrilled to be embarking on this exploratory journey with all of you—I cannot wait to see where it will take us!

Congratulations again to TSA tanka prose contest winners Urszula Funnell, J. Zimmerman, Claire Everett, Jenny Ward Angyal and David Terelinck.  Clare MacQueen, Editor-in-Chief (and new member of TSA) of KYSO Flash requested permission from TSA and the winners to reprint their tanka prose pieces in the current issue of her journal.  Their tanka prose (and details on the KYSO Haibun and Tanka Prose Contest) can be found at:
